  My JW Friend's Justification for the WT Being God's Chosen Organisation

  below is my jw friend's "proof" that the wt is god's only organisation and mouthpiece on earth.

  he has yet to reinforce his strange story by biblical text or the church fathers or any historical evidence.. please, suggest how i may respond to his assertion.

  i believe that this is the fundamental doctrine of the 'borg' and the one on which wt credibility rests.. thank you.. .

  fundamentalists vs. liberal christians.

  while commenting on a recent post at proud atheists, i found myself again reflecting on how i have more respect for fundamentalist christians than the so called liberal christians.

  of course, i realize that "respect" isn't the best word here because religious fundamentalists are hardly worthy of respect.

  other religions have hallal and kosher foods since the koran and old testament tell them to "abstain from eating blood.

  " these foods are 100% certain to have been bled.

  witnesses who think this law is so important don't ever check if their meat is bled, they just asume it is so.

  i remember getting my first crapy computer for $200 bucks and clicking on the internet for the first time....i said to myself: "i may just look up my jehovah's witness brothers on here.....free minds watching the watchtower hmmm .

  so the nails in my faith coffin began to be hammered in rip.

  Frustrated with Holidays

  i know we have all talked about the fact that holidays today don't mean what they did in the ancient past.

  i don't like the word pagan, becuase of all the negative conatations associated with it.

  but with something as simple as valentine's day; that the history beyond the known facts that a christian known as valentine was martyed on feb 14th, why is there so much disdaine for it?
